Gokwe South Rural District Council held its First Year Meeting in 2026 with employees of Gokwe South RDC in attendance. The meeting was convened to review the previous period’s performance, discuss key operational and developmental aspects, and outline the way forward for the year.
During the meeting, various key issues were discussed, including service delivery, teamwork among departments, work performance, challenges faced by employees, and strategies for improving efficiency and effectiveness. Management highlighted the importance of commitment, accountability, and alignment of all activities with Council objectives.
In outlining the way forward, emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation among employees, improving communication, enhancing service delivery, and fostering a positive working environment. Employees were encouraged to work together as one team in order to achieve the Council’s development goals.
In his closing remarks, the Chief Executive Officer, Mr J. Gute, expressed his sincere appreciation to all employees for their efforts and dedication during the previous period. He thanked everyone for their hard work and emphasised the importance of teamwork, unity, and mutual support in driving the success of Gokwe South Rural District Council. Mr Gute encouraged staff to continue working collaboratively towards improved service delivery and sustainable development
Gokwe South Rural District Council donated 7 balls to Ward 15 on 24 November 2025, as part of its social responsibility initiative. The balls will support volleyball, netball, and soccer activities in the community. This move aims to promote sports development and healthy lifestyles among locals. The council’s contribution is expected to enhance community engagement and teamwork
“Exciting developments are underway in Ward 33 with the construction of the Summerest Teachers Staff House Block. This project aims to provide comfortable and modern accommodation for teachers, enhancing their living conditions and contributing to the well-being of the education community
“St. Curthbert School in Ward 33 is undergoing a significant transformation with the construction of a new school block. The project, which is currently underway, aims to provide students with modern and improved learning facilities.This will not only enhance the learning experience but also provide students with a safe and conducive environment to grow and develop.
