Gokwe South RDC Holds Second Finance Committee Meeting 25 February 2026
Gokwe South Rural District Council convened its second Finance Committee meeting for the year 2026 to deliberate on key financial matters and strategic issues guiding the operations of the Council.
The meeting focused primarily on the review and approval of the 2026 budget, with members carefully assessing revenue projections, expenditure estimates, and departmental allocations to ensure alignment with the Council’s development priorities and service delivery mandate.
During the deliberations, the Committee emphasized:

The Finance Committee also discussed other pertinent issues affecting the smooth running of the Council, including resource mobilization strategies, cost containment measures, and the implementation status of ongoing projects.
Members reaffirmed their commitment to transparency, efficiency, and responsible governance in steering the Council forward. The meeting concluded with a clear roadmap aimed at enhancing financial stability and improving service delivery across the district.
Gokwe South RDC Officials Assess Zhamba Community Hall Completion
The Chief Executive Officer of Gokwe South Rural District Council, Mr. Jabulani Gute, together with the District Development Coordinator, Madam Mushauri, the Council Chairperson, Mr. A. Karikoga, and the management team, accompanied by the Technical Services Department, conducted a field visit to Zhamba community to assess the newly constructed community hall in Ward 3.
The hall, built through the Council’s Plough Back initiative, is a key community project under the oversight of Ward Councillor Mr. Manhibi. During the visit, the officials carefully inspected the facility to review the status of completion and ensure that the construction meets the required standards.
The exercise demonstrates Gokwe South RDC’s commitment to monitoring development projects, ensuring quality, and supporting community infrastructure that benefits local residents. Officials praised the work completed so far and encouraged all stakeholders to maintain high standards to achieve timely and successful project delivery.

Gokwe South RDC First Year Meeting 2026
Gokwe South Rural District Council held its First Year Meeting in 2026 with employees of Gokwe South RDC in attendance. The meeting was convened to review the previous period’s performance, discuss key operational and developmental aspects, and outline the way forward for the year.
During the meeting, various key issues were discussed, including service delivery, teamwork among departments, work performance, challenges faced by employees, and strategies for improving efficiency and effectiveness. Management highlighted the importance of commitment, accountability, and alignment of all activities with Council objectives.
In outlining the way forward, emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation among employees, improving communication, enhancing service delivery, and fostering a positive working environment. Employees were encouraged to work together as one team in order to achieve the Council’s development goals.
In his closing remarks, the Chief Executive Officer, Mr J. Gute, expressed his sincere appreciation to all employees for their efforts and dedication during the previous period. He thanked everyone for their hard work and emphasised the importance of teamwork, unity, and mutual support in driving the success of Gokwe South Rural District Council. Mr Gute encouraged staff to continue working collaboratively towards improved service delivery and sustainable development
Gokwe South Rural District Council donated 7 balls to Ward 15 on 24 November 2025, as part of its social responsibility initiative. The balls will support volleyball, netball, and soccer activities in the community. This move aims to promote sports development and healthy lifestyles among locals. The council’s contribution is expected to enhance community engagement and teamwork
