GOKWE SOUTH RDC CONDUCTS JUNE CLEAN-UP CAMPAIGN AT HOVANO BUSINESS CENTRE

Gokwe South Rural District Council successfully conducted its monthly clean-up campaign for June at Hovano Business Centre in Ward 15. The campaign brought together Council staff, local leaders, business operators, and community members in a collective effort to promote environmental cleanliness and public health.

The clean-up exercise focused on the collection and proper disposal of litter, clearing of waste dumps, and improving the overall appearance of the business centre. Participants demonstrated their commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment for all residents and visitors.

Speaking during the campaign, Council officials emphasized the importance of proper waste management and urged community members to avoid littering. A clean environment contributes to better public health, reduces the spread of diseases, and creates a more attractive and sustainable community.

The campaign was conducted under the theme: “No to Litter – We Need a Clean Environment.” Residents and business operators were encouraged to take responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean at all times and to support future environmental initiatives.

GOKWE SOUTH RURAL DISTRICT COUNCIL CONDUCTS GENERAL STAFF MEETING

Gokwe South Rural District Council conducted a General Staff Meeting today aimed at enhancing service delivery, improving workplace efficiency, and addressing matters affecting employees and the organization as a whole.

The meeting focused on several key areas, including staff welfare, where management and employees discussed issues affecting the well-being and productivity of staff members. Revenue collection strategies were also deliberated upon, with emphasis placed on strengthening collection mechanisms to improve the Council’s financial performance and capacity to deliver quality services to residents.

Furthermore, the importance of utilizing annual leave days was highlighted, encouraging employees to take leave in accordance with Council policies to promote work-life balance and maintain productivity. Staff members were also reminded about maintaining professional dressing standards as representatives of the Council.

In addition, the meeting emphasized the significance of properly completing check-in and check-out registers to enhance accountability, attendance monitoring, and workplace discipline.

The Council reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a productive working environment and ensuring that all employees contribute effectively towards achieving the organization’s developmental goals and improving service delivery within Gokwe South District.

E-Government Procurement (e-GP) Training Workshop
Gokwe South Rural District Council (RDC) conducted a training workshop in collaboration with the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ). The workshop was facilitated by PRAZ representatives, Tatenda Siziba and Kundai Chindondi, and was aimed at equipping local bidders within Gokwe South District with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively participate in public procurement processes.
The training focused on guiding participants on how to bid for government tenders using the electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) system. Key areas covered included bidder registration on the e-GP platform, navigation of the system, submission of bids, and compliance with procurement regulations.
The workshop also emphasized transparency, accountability, and fairness in public procurement, while encouraging local businesses to actively participate in government tenders. Participants were given practical demonstrations on how to use the system, which enhanced their understanding and confidence in utilizing the e-GP platform.
